    Considered the least reliable of the three scheduled airlines. Book earlier for best prices. If you land at SJU from your main flight and plan to connect straight to your Culebra flight, you will not have to go through security to get to the Cape Air gate if you don’t have checked luggage. But if you are returning from Culebra / Vieques via Cape Air, you will have to go through security for your international flight.

Taking the ferry used to be very complicated with a high risk of cancellation. But recent improvements have made it a very simple, reliable way to get to Culebra. Go to puertoricoferry.com to book tickets in advance.

Ferries operate out of the Ceiba Ferry Terminal, a little over an hour from San Juan Airport (SJU) in an $80-100 taxi. Cargo ferries (about a 2 hour journey) and Passenger Ferries (about a 50 minute journey) provide service about 8 times a day to / from Culebra, and you can purchase tickets to ride on either.

Tickets go on sale a few weeks before the trip date, but there are a limited number that can be bought online, so try and book early. If the online tickets are sold out, you can still try and get tickets at the docks- get there 2 hours early.
